In the shooting in the synagogue in the American city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, killing 11 people. This was announced by the head of the local security management Wendell Hissrich at a press conference, reports the Fox News channel.
Authorities confirmed that among the victims there are no children. Six people were injured, including four police officers. The man who opened fire received during the arrest, multiple gunshot wounds and is in hospital in a condition of average weight.
According to police, the assailant’s name was Robert Bowers, and he is 48. The FBI suggests that Bowers was acting alone and had not previously come to the attention of the police. The shooter was armed with an assault rifle and at least three pistols. The U.S. Department of justice is going to press charges against him for crimes motivated by religious intolerance, which can lead to death.
Bowers opened fire on the morning of 27 Oct, Saturday, in the synagogue Tree of Life. According to local TV station KDKA, during the attack, the man shouted anti-Semitic slogans.
