Solomenskiy district court of Kyiv obliged the National anticorruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU) to initiate a criminal case against former Prime Minister Arseniy Yatsenyuk and acting Minister of justice Pavel Petrenko. On Monday, October 29, with reference to the materials of the court informs the Agency “Ukrainian news”.
The decision the court made on 17 October. Yatsenyuk and Petrenko suspect in the embezzlement of public funds in large sizes and laundering of proceeds. In court the applicant, whose name does not appear, noted that the NAB had previously refused to open criminal proceedings in his appeal, he filed a complaint with the court. The claim was satisfied, the court ordered the Bureau to start an investigation against Yatsenyuk, Petrenko, and one of the Vice-Minister of justice and head of the Secretariat of the state Secretary of the Ministry.
It is noted that the court ordered the NAB to open proceedings under articles 364 (“Abuse of power or official position”), 191 (“Assignment, waste of property or taking to them by abuse of official position”), 209 (“Legalization (laundering) of the incomes received by a criminal way”), 366 (“Office forgery”) and 212 (“Evasion of taxes, duties and other mandatory payments”) of the Criminal code of Ukraine.
Yatsenyuk Prime Minister of Ukraine in 2014-2016. In March 2017 the Russian Essentuki city court arrested in absentia Yatsenyuk in the case of the fighting in Chechnya. Ukrainian politics was charged under the article “Robbery” of the criminal code.
In April of the same year, Russia’s Investigative Committee said it has evidence of the involvement of the former Prime Minister of Ukraine to the torture and murder of captured soldiers in Grozny on 7 January 1995. In addition, Yatsenyuk was seen “at least two armed clashes that took place on 31 December 1994 on the area Minute in Grozny in February 1995”. While Interpol has denied Russia in the ad petition Yatsenyuk in the international search.
