American soldiers drank all the beer in Reykjavik

Located in the capital of Iceland, the soldiers of the U.S. army nearly wiped out the supply of beer in the local bars and restaurants. About it reported on October 28 Newsweek magazine.

More than six thousand American military spent the weekend in Reykjavik. During their stay in the city most of the bars and restaurants ran out of beer and the local Breweries had to put in additional beer barrels.

Especially popular were light local beer, the Americans preferred imported to Iceland brands of the drink.

Soldiers of the U.S. armed forces quartered in Reykjavik on the way to Scandinavia — there are preparing to deploy the largest since the Cold war strategic doctrine of NATO.

An exercise called Trident Juncture 2018 (the”Single Trident-2018″) will be held in October-November this year. In them will take part more than 40 thousand troops from 31 countries — member States of the Alliance, and their partners, such as Sweden and Finland. In their framework for the first time in 31 years in the Norwegian sea enters the US Navy aircraft carrier “Harry Truman”.

As previously stated the commander-in-chief of the United NATO forces in Europe, General Curtis Scaparotti, it is a demonstration that the United States and its allies “are prepared to counter the growing Russian threat”.
