The operation to lift the floating dock PD-50, sunk in Murmansk when exiting the aircraft carrier “Admiral Kuznetsov”, would take at least six months. This was told by TASS source in the military-industrial complex.

The interviewee noted that the work would require special attention because of the large size and technical characteristics of the sunken structure. “A lot depends on what position he is, whether he’s on a straight keel or lying on its side. Since the flooding floating dock formed his roll, then he is likely lying on his side, which, of course, complicate the operation”, — quotes its words Agency.

The lifting process can be delayed for a year. The interlocutor of the TASS suggested that instead of sunken PD-50 for repair of courts, can be used another dock PD-1, which is located in Severodvinsk.

On 30 October it became known that the world’s largest floating dock PD-50 was sunk during the repair of the cruiser “Admiral Kuznetsov”. The incident occurred in the Murmansk region in the 82nd shipyard, when the dock fell two tower crane.

It was also reported that the incident injured four workers and one person was missing. The cruiser during flooding of the dock was not damaged.

The ship “Admiral Kuznetsov” was under repair, which was to be completed in 2021. It was planned that the ship will get new energy equipment and weapons. The cruiser is the only carrier in the composition of the Navy (Navy) of Russia.
