World Council for tourism and travel (WTTC) has published an annual report showing the impact of tourism on economic development cities around the world. The results of the study posted on the website of WTTC.
The rating includes 72 cities, the first position occupied Shanghai. Here the contribution of tourism to GDP in 2017 amounted to $ 35 billion. It is followed by China (32.5 billion dollars) and Paris (28 billion).
Also in the top 10 included new York ($24.8 billion), Orlando (24.8 billion), Tokyo (21,7), Bangkok (21,3), Mexico city (19,7), Las Vegas (19,5) and Shenzhen (19).
In October, Mastercard has published the rating of Mastercard’s 2018 Global Destination Cities Index, which marked the most expensive tourist cities in the world. For this purpose the experts analyzed how much the average traveler spends a day in different cities. In the first place in the ranking was Dubai, where tourists leave 537 dollars a day.
