The fate of the sunken floating dock PD-50 will solve a special Commission, which will include representatives of the Navy and 82-second shipyard. About it RBC was told by the Vice Prime Minister of Russia Yuri Borisov.
“It will be formed a Commission which will understand in detail the causes and determine the cost of damage, will outline the action plan for recovery. Of course, this is an unfortunate situation, but such cases are, unfortunately, no one is immune,” he said.
Borisov said that the Commission will also consider the question of the expediency of raising PD-50: “most Likely, Yes, it will pick up.” According to him, the authorities “will do everything to prevent the return of an aircraft carrier in the Navy.”
Vice Prime Minister also promised compensation to all those affected by the emergency.
October 30, the Agency TASS in the military-industrial complex told that the process of lifting the floating dock from the bottom could drag on for a year, and in return the PD-50 for repair of courts, can be used another dock PD-1, which is located in Severodvinsk.
On 30 October it became known that the world’s largest floating dock PD-50 was sunk during the repair of the cruiser “Admiral Kuznetsov”. The incident occurred in the Murmansk region in the 82nd shipyard, when the dock fell two tower crane.
It was also reported that the incident injured four workers and one person was missing. The cruiser during flooding of the dock got a five-meter hole.
“Admiral Kuznetsov” was under repair, which was to be completed in 2021. It was planned that the ship will get new energy equipment and weapons. The cruiser is the only carrier in the composition of the Navy (Navy) of Russia.
