American scientists have found a correlation between body type and personal characteristics of the person. Reported by the Daily Mail.
A team of researchers from the University of Texas at Dallas figured out how the human body influences the first impressions of others about his identity. The experiment involved 76 students, who were shown 140 photographs (70 men and 70 women). Respondents were also asked to tell their opinion about each person, using 30 listed on the screen traits.
Each of the proposed words fall under the description of one of the five independent personality traits of the Big five psychological model, which assumes that the personality consists of five General and relatively independent traits such as extraversion, friendliness, conscientiousness, neuroticism and openness to experience.
According to the data obtained, in most cases, fat people are associated with laziness and negligence, and slender — with confidence and enthusiasm. Broad-shouldered people and owners of the pear-shaped figure dubbed the conflict, irritable extroverts.
The experts also noted that shy people often have non-standard types of shapes.
In October, British scientists have found a correlation between dress and personal characteristics of women. It turned out that the most healthy and successful women are most often the owner of a slender figure.
