The Arkhangelsk regional court sentenced a previously convicted 36-year-old local resident to 18 years in a colony of special regime for particularly brutal murder of his 34-year-old concubine, reported on the website of the regional Department of the Investigative Committee.
The investigation established that from October 2016 to July 2017 the man systematically got drunk and beat his girlfriend and abused her. On the night of 19 November 2016 in the hallway he grabbed the woman by the hair, showed a knife and threatened to murder.
In the night from 22 to 23 July 2017 he realized their threats and struck with hands, feet, the stool and the hammer 115 blows to the head, back, chest, stomach, lower back. As a result, the victim died.
During interrogation the man admitted the guilt only partially and announced that he did not want to kill anyone. The court found him guilty of torture (part 1 of article 117 of the criminal code), death threats (part 1 of article 119 of the criminal code) and murder with special cruelty (the item “d” of part 2 of article 105 of the criminal code).
In a press-service of Prosecutor’s office of the Arkhangelsk region said that the deceased repeatedly complained to the police for domestic violence, but no response to it was, she refused to initiate criminal proceedings. Guilty policemen were brought to disciplinary responsibility. At the district initiated a criminal case about negligence.
