Died the founder of the company for the production of luxury goods

Died Alan knight, co-founder of the company LVMH Moët Hennessy — Louis Vuitton. It is reported by Le Figaro.

The businessman died on 1 November in the 88th year of his life at his home in Megeve (Haute-Savoie, a Department in the East of France).

The President of France Emmanuel macron expressed his condolences to the Chevalier. In a statement, the Elysee Palace says that “he put his intelligence and talent in the service of politics and industry, wishing to see France as a leader in the production of luxury items”.

The farewell ceremony will take place on 7 November.

Chevalier founded LVMH in 1987, together with Henri Raceme. The company covers all five major segments of the market of luxury products: wines and spirits, fashion and leather goods, perfumes and cosmetics, watches and jewelry, and luxury retailer. Annual turnover in 2017 amounted to 42.6 billion euros. The current President of LVMH, Bernard Arnault became the richest man in Europe, his fortune is estimated at 70.7 billion.
