The head of the unrecognized Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Kyivan Patriarchate (UOC-KP) Filaret has denied accusations by the Ukrainian Orthodox Church-Moscow Patriarchate (UOC-MP) in raiding. Words Filaret was cited by “Radio Liberty”.

At the end of October Filaret said that after the establishment of one local Orthodox Ukrainian Church of the UOC-MP would have to change the name to “Russian Orthodox Church in Ukraine.” The UOC-MP called these plans a raider.

“No “raiding” will not. Would like Moscow to have had the opportunity to intervene in the internal Affairs of Ukraine, — said Filaret.

According to him, Moscow “I want to create occasions for the alleged protection of the Orthodox”. “We know this and don’t want to give reasons. Therefore, no forcible seizure of churches will not, and will be an easy transition for those who want it. The same who do not want to remain in the Russian Orthodox Church. We will require that Ukraine was a Ukrainian Orthodox Church,” — said Filaret.

According to him, of the 12 parishes of the UOC-MP about 150 have already moved to Kyiv Patriarchate.

In early October, the Ecumenical Patriarchate proceeded with the granting of autocephaly of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine and removed the anathema of the heads of the unrecognized Ukrainian Orthodox Church Kiev Patriarchate and the Ukrainian Autocephalous Orthodox Church. The Russian Orthodox Church on 15 October broke Eucharistic communion with the Ecumenical Patriarchate, October 20, declared the Patriarch of Constantinople Bartholomew a schismatic according to Church canons.
