Ukrainian “Naftogaz” has begun to implement plan “B” in connection with the construction of the pipeline “Nord stream-2”. About this on air of the TV channel ZIK said the Director of the company Yuriy Vitrenko.
He said that “Nord stream-2” will be built, despite the efforts of Kiev, as Germany supports the project. There is a possibility that gas transit via Ukraine can stop completely, said Vitrenko.
According to a top Manager, “Naftogaz” has started the implementation of the emergency plan. “We are trying to compensate for financial losses. We have initiated a new arbitration, which, in fact, already started, where we require more than 12 billion dollars, of which ten is, in fact, compensate for the fact that will not transit through the territory of Ukraine after 2019,” — said Vitrenko. He stressed that it is still a backup option. But plan “a” — save transit.
That Kiev has a plan B in case the launch of “Nord stream-2”, Yuriy Vitrenko said at the beginning of October. He noted that Ukraine has filed an international arbitration suit against Russia for compensation from the launch of “Nord stream-2” and idle gas transportation system after the end of the term of the contract for gas transit.
