Fugitive Italian mafia took hostage four people

Italian criminal Francesco Amato, hiding from the police after the verdict, took in hostages of four employees of the post office. It is reported RIA Novosti citing local media.

According to journalists, in late October, the 55-year-old Amato was sentenced to 19 years in prison for his involvement in a powerful organized crime group the ‘ Ndrangheta, but he managed to escape from the authorities.

November 5, offender with a kitchen knife in his hand broke into a post office in the city of Pieve Madalena. The man shouted that he would kill everyone in the room, however, after some time has released seven clients and one employee, which was bad. In the end, the hostages Amato left four employees of mail.

Mafia issued an ultimatum: he demanded a meeting with the Minister of defence of Italy Elisabetta Trent and the interior Minister, Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salween.

Currently, the building is surrounded by police officers. Law enforcement officers do not exclude the possibility of use of special forces to release hostages.
