The Chairman of Russian government Dmitry Medvedev called for joint opposition to trade protectionism. With this statement he made in Shanghai for the opening of the first China international import EXPO, reports “Interfax”.
“Today, we face common challenges — to find new sources of growth in the world economy, to create an open space for mutually beneficial cooperation, where there is no pressure, no sanctions, not protectionism and restrictions. And that, unfortunately, the reality of the modern world, the modern world economy, and we can’t close our eyes,” he said.
Medvedev noted that the basis for trade should be based on the principles of free competition and free movement of goods, works and services.
Monday, November 5, in Shanghai attended by representatives of 130 countries of the world, to demonstrate the capabilities of their economies and to discuss the prospects of international trade.
In September, Medvedev warned the Russians about the difficult six-year cycle in the economy because of the sanctions, trade wars and protectionism and called for a balanced to evaluate macroeconomic conditions, which have to work in the future.
