The Montenegrin opposition coalition “Democratic front” Andrija Mandic and Milan knežević addressed the heads of several States with the request to protect them from political persecution by the authorities. TASS said one of the authors of the letter.

Mandic and knežević claim that the Montenegrin government took away their passports, limiting freedom of movement and right to engage in international political activities. They also said that at home against them, trials that are political in nature, and asked to stop “Kafkaesque persecution”.

“We are convinced that in Europe today there is so persecuted political Union, whose leaders held several trials and its functionaries — in the illegally appointed many months of confinement at a constant violation of basic human rights,” — said the opposition.

It is noted that copy of application was sent to the leaders of Russia, France, Serbia, as well as a number of European functionaries. The choice of countries and organizations due to the fact that policy was carried out there last working meetings in the period from 27 July to 30 October 2018.

In Montenegro Mandic and knežević are charged with preparing a coup with the assistance of Moscow. According to the government, it was directed against the policy of Prime Minister Milo Djukanovic and the policy of joining NATO.

In November 2017, they wrote to Russian leader Vladimir Putin the letter in which asked about support and informed about the alleged involvement of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov, to the preparation of the coup. In the Kremlin all the accusations are called unfounded.
