British sailor Alex Thomson on the yacht alone class IMOCA Hugo Boss for the first time will take part in the transatlantic “rum” race Route de Rhum.
In the class IMOCA competes two dozen rivals, all in all, the race will be attended by 123 yachts from six different classes. The regatta started on 4 November in the French port of Saint-Malo in Brittany, the finish of the race in Guadeloupe.
Despite the fact that Thomson is the first Route de Rhum race, he is considered to be one of her favorites and is currently the leader in its class. The yacht Hugo Boss he took part in the round the world race Vendée Globe in 2016-2017, where he came second despite serious damage.
