American shot and killed a police dog and paid with his life

Police in St. Clair shores near Detroit shot and killed an armed suspect after he killed a police dog. This was reported by the newspaper The Detroit News.

The incident occurred on Sunday, November 4th. Armed man spotted not far from the Banquet hall where the event took place for about 70 people. When the police arrived, the suspect tried to escape. The police released him after a shepherd named AKS. The dog managed to detain him, but the man opened fire on it from the gun.

The result of the ensuing shootout with a police man was killed. His name is not reported.

AKS was listed as a police officer in 2016. The dog was named in honor of U.S. special forces officer Matthew Axelson, who died in 2005 in Afghanistan.
