The authorities agreed with the oil companies fixed the price of gasoline, which will operate until March 2019, says family-owned Demyan Kudryavtsev, the newspaper “Vedomosti”.
According to the publication, 31 October the government held a meeting with the oil workers, under the chairmanship of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Kozak. It was agreed that until the end of March, the company will increase the price of gasoline in a strictly defined framework.
Until January, the average price of a liter of AI-92 gasoline in the wholesale market should not exceed 39,86 ruble, AI-95 — 42,77 rubles, diesel — 43,11 of the ruble. In January, the oil companies can raise prices, but not more than 1.7%, i.e. the magnitude of the growth in VAT, which will rise from 18 percent to 20 percent.
In February and March rates may be increased no more than projected inflation, i.e. 4.3 percent.
The agreement also has a clause stating that the oil companies undertake to supply the domestic Russian market not less than 17.5% of the produced fuel to satisfy the demand of independent petrol stations (gas stations).
After the meeting, Kozak said that the government is not going to go to the “manual control” gas prices. The current agreement, he called a forced measure.
In the spring of 2018 in Russia recorded a sharp rise in gasoline prices. To stop it, the government has reduced excise taxes and abandoned their plans for improvement. Also, a law was passed on the completion of the tax maneuver in the oil industry, which provides for compensation to Russian oil refineries in case of rising world oil prices.
