About one-third of the expenditure part of the Russian budget in 2019 will be spent on defense, security and law enforcement. This was announced by the Director of budget policy Department of the Ministry of Finance Anatoly Popov, RIA Novosti reported.

According to officials, the amount of military spending will be unprecedented. “Together with the closed part of the costs of law enforcement, defense and security make up 30 percent of the state budget expenditure over the years. The total additional budget allocations for defense and security will be 1,160 trillion rubles for three years”, — said Popov.

According to the draft Federal budget on defense in 2019 will be spent 1,382 trillion rubles in 2020 this amount will grow almost twice — up to 2,456 trillion, and in 2021-up to 2,523 trillion. Popov noted that it is only open to the us Federal budget, which has also covered the expenditure.

In late October, the head of the Duma Committee on budget and taxes Andrey Makarov tried to explain the necessity of such expenses “undeclared war” against Russia. According to him, not to spend money on defense in such circumstances is madness.
