Washington intends to introduce a second package of sanctions against Moscow, because he was unable to ascertain compliance with the Russian legislation on chemical weapons. This was announced by state Department spokesman USA Heather Nauert, reports Reuters.
According to Nauert, the state Department could not confirm that Russia is complying with the conditions established by the Law on the elimination of chemical and biological weapons in 1991. “We intend to act in accordance with the provisions of the act, which provides for the application of additional sanctions,” she said.
In August the US imposed against Moscow, the first package of sanctions over the use of chemical weapons and violations of international law. He suggests a complete ban on exports to Russia of electronic devices and components of dual use. The second unit is introduced with a delay of three months and involves lowering the level of diplomatic relations, withdrawal of permission for Aeroflot to make flights to the USA, and also the almost complete cessation of trade between the countries.
In September it became known that the USA plan to introduce “very tough” second package of sanctions against Russia in connection with the use of nerve agents “Newcomer” in the British Salisbury.
