In Armenia, Amnesty released Hrachya Harutyunyan — cause of a car accident in Moscow region, which killed 18 people. This itself Harutyunyan told News.am.

As the “Sputnik Armenia”, August 31 Harutyunyan was serving a sentence in an open type. He had a right to go to work, but was in a penitentiary institution. This measure is applied in respect of persons who have committed unintentional crimes.
Loaded gravel truck, at the wheel which was the citizen of Armenia, Harutyunyan, 13 Jul 2013 crashed into a bus with 64 passengers traveling from Podolsk in Kurilovo. The accident killed 18 people, injured more than 40. The investigation revealed that the truck were not maintained properly and had a faulty brake system. Harutyunyan was sentenced to six years and nine months imprisonment.
In July 2017 he was taken to Armenia to serve the remainder of his sentence in the manner prescribed by the European Convention “On the transfer of sentenced persons” from 1983.
On 3 November the President of Armenia Armen Sargsyan signed the Amnesty law, earlier passed by the National Assembly of the country. The largest in the history of country Amnesty, timed to the 100th anniversary of the proclamation Gервой of the Republic of Armenia and the 2,800 th anniversary of Yerevan, will affect about 6.5 thousand citizens.
