U.S. military aircraft spotted near the borders of Russia in the Gulf of Finland

Anti-submarine patrol US Navy aircraft made a reconnaissance flight at a record close distance from the sea borders of the Leningrad region on the Finnish Gulf. About it reports “Interfax” with reference to the monitoring data of the Western aviation assets.

According to reports, the plane was on a mission in the airspace over Finland. During the flight over the Gulf of Finland he approached the Russian island of Gogland 19 kilometers, Vyborg — 126 km and to the district of St. Petersburg to Kronstadt — in the 169 kilometres.

It is noted that recent flights of reconnaissance aircraft of the Navy and the U.S. air force near Leningrad region were realized in 70 kilometers from the Western borders of Russia. American intelligence officers were present from St. Petersburg at a distance of over 200 kilometers.

November 5, the Russian su-27 intercepted an American reconnaissance plane in international airspace over the Black sea. In the Russian defense Ministry said that the fighter was sent up to intercept the approach of American aircraft to the border of Russian airspace.
