The Federal security service (FSB) of Russia during the world championship on football of 2018 took special measures to prevent terrorist attacks using unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs). On Wednesday, November 7, with reference to Director of Department Alexander Bortnikov reports TASS.
“The FSB (…) has taken all necessary measures to identify and prevent the use of UAVs by terrorists in the course of preparation and carrying out of various mass political and sporting events, primarily during the Russia world Cup football,” he said.
Bortnikov made the announcement, speaking at the XVII meeting of heads of special services, security agencies and law enforcement bodies of foreign States — partners of FSB of Russia.
On 11 September it was reported that the FSB created a new structure to counter cyber attacks on key facilities of Russian infrastructure. Detection, prevention and liquidation of consequences of such crimes will the national coordination center for computer incidents (NCCI). Will be chaired by a Deputy head scientifically-technical service — the chief Center of information security and special communications FSB Andrey Ivashko.
