Popular basketball shoes stopped using the former demand, reports Quartzy.
American company the NPD Group, specializing in the study of consumer behavior, announced a decline in sales in this category of sports shoes. The researchers reported that in 2013 basketball sneakers (e.g. Nike Air Jordan 1) accounted for 13 percent of sales in the American market, but today their share has fallen to four percent. The only exception was the model of LeBron James Nikes s, which is still in demand.
Representatives of the NPD Group noted that the information given is based on data obtained from a large retail retailers, and does not cover direct sales producers.
In October the experts of online retailer StockX listed most expensive sneakers in the third quarter of 2018. First place in the ranking took Undefated collaboration sneakers x Nike Kobe 1 Protro Purple purple. The average price of one pair in online stores — 6275 dollars.
