The US President Donald trump said that he plans to separately meet with Russian leader Vladimir Putin in Paris on November 11. He told this to journalists during a press conference, reports NBC News.
According to trump, he will be present at the organized for the heads of state dinner, but not sure that will meet with Putin. “I’ll be there. I think that President Putin will be there. But it’s all we have planned”, — he explained, adding that his trip will be very short.
The American leader also said that between him and Putin held brief meeting at the summit of “Big twenty”, which will be held in Argentina from 30 November to 1 December. “That’s where we will have a meeting,” said trump.
November 7, Putin’s aide, Dmitry Ushakov has said that leaders meeting in the French capital will be short. According to him, the parties are concerned that negotiations would distract attention from the main theme of the event — the 100th anniversary of the First world war.
On 23 October, the Kremlin announced the meeting of Putin and trump. Ushakov said that they have reached a preliminary agreement on holding a bilateral summit in Paris. Previously, such a proposal was made by Putin at a meeting with Advisor on national security, John Bolton. Trump then agreed.
The first full meeting of Putin and trump took place on 16 July at the presidential Palace in the capital of Finland Helsinki. As a whole, including the conversation tete-a-tete that lasted nearly four hours. The parties stated that they were satisfied with the negotiations.
