Ministry of internal Affairs of Buryatiya wanted to trace the IP of the commentators to the article on public procurement


Of the MIA of Buryatia interested in negative comments to the article in the local newspaper “Number one” on expensive government procurement and demanded the IP addresses of the users. This was reported on the newspaper’s website.

The day before on the website there is news of the allocation of 7 million rubles for the needs for officials of the Republican government. In particular, it was told about plans to purchase two sedans for 1.6 million rubles each, four universal a million rubles, and spend millions of rubles on the furniture.

The website team received two letters from different departments. In the document from the Centre for combating extremism stated that the comments on the article “leaning to the obstruction of the activities of public authorities”. In the section “K” (struggle against crimes in sphere of computer information — approx. did not justify their demands by referring to the laws “On police” and “About operatively-search activity” .

The newspaper refused to comply with the requirements of the police. In the editorial stated that cannot provide information about IP addresses, so this information applies to any personal information. The publication also noted that Roskomnadzor found no violation of law in the disputed review.
