The Russians supported the establishment of the country’s tourist police. This is evidenced by opinion polls, reports RIA Novosti.
To the question “tourist police in our country rather needed or not needed” 75 percent responded in the affirmative. The survey was conducted in October 2018. In the survey participated 1.6 thousand of Russians over the age of 18. Method of research — telephone interview. The maximum size of error with a 95% probability does not exceed 2.5 percent.
At the time of carrying out in Russia of world football championship 2018, the number of the host cities was established the tourist police unit of employees who speak foreign languages. Their duties included patrolling places of mass stay of foreign fans, assisting them in resolving emerging issues as well as appeals in the case of offenses against them.
In Moscow the tourist police exist in 2014. Its employees speak not only in English but also in French, German and Chinese. They help the tourists not to get lost in the capital and are engaged in the investigation of thefts and robberies on foreigners.
