Rescuers found the wreckage of the sunken in the sea of Okhotsk of the dry-cargo ship “Anatoly Krasheninnikov”, presumably from the upper deck. This was reported on the website of the government of Kamchatskiy Krai on Saturday, November 10.
Missing crew members — the captain, chief officer and engineer — yet to be found. However, the search and rescue operation will continue, the report says.
On 12 November scheduled meeting of the local authorities with the families of the sailors. The government will also discuss the issue of providing families with material assistance.
The ship “Anatoliy Krashennikov” sank in the waters of the Gulf of the kambalny river of the sea of Okhotsk on Friday, 9 November. On Board were 13 people, 10 of them rescued by a nearby vessel.
According to the Minister of special programs and on Affairs of Cossacks of Kamchatskiy Krai Sergey Khabarov, the incident could occur due to shifting of cargo, leading to roll and capsize of the vessel. At the time of the crash “Anatoliy Krashennikov” transporting building materials and equipment to the village of Palana in the North of Kamchatka.
