Citizens of Ukraine who received Russian citizenship, are planning to issue a permit to work in the security services and the interior Ministry. This follows from the amendments to the law “On citizenship”, which the state Duma Committee on civil society development proposed to adopt in the first reading on December 18, reports “Kommersant”.
Now the citizens of Ukraine in obtaining a Russian passport must submit a notarized copy of the Declaration of renunciation of former citizenship. However, after that they are still in Russia, holders of dual citizenship, and therefore cannot work in the civil service.
The bill proposes to deprive them of that status and to consider the Russians those who had notified Kiev about his voluntary renunciation of Ukrainian citizenship.
“Then such a person will not have restrictions on the admission to the civil service and will be able to go to work even in the FSB. In employment it will apply the usual test procedure”, — said the Deputy Sergei Gavrilov and added that it is necessary to make amendments and to other “laws”, to specify the notion of “notarized letter”.
In September it was reported that the bill will allow ex-citizens of Ukraine to work in the civil government. The document does not cover the Crimea, who after joining the Peninsula to Russia was automatically recognized by the Russians without dual citizenship.
