The construction of the railway approach to the Crimean bridge will require a total revision of the project in connection with the discovery of unexpected archaeological finds of the ancient settlement of Manara. This is stated in the message of the centre of the Crimean bridge.
“To preserve the unique historical monument builders approach to the Crimean bridge will adjust the route of the railway line in one of the areas in the vicinity of Kerch. The road will bypass and not affect the structure of rich antique estate”, — stated in the message of the centre.
The Ministry of transport information on the change of the project confirmed to RBC. The source noted that it has been tasked to develop a new project of the bypass of the historic settlement. The track plan to build at 700-900 metres to the South.
“The transfer station will allow scientists to study the object and save it. This will require additional work by about 300 million rubles”, — said the representative office. Archaeologists believe that the transfer of 700-900 meters should be enough to not destroy historical sites.
The transport Ministry also said that the design change will not affect the timing of delivery of train tracks and the deadline is still stated in December 2019.
