Vice-Governor of Chukotka Eugene Podlesny questioned the results of the study, according to which his region was recognized as the drinking in Russia. This he told TASS.
According to him, all the indicators it is necessary to look in dynamics, then it appears that the level of alcohol in Chukotka falls. “A lot is being done in the region — is limited to the time of alcohol sales, increasing the number of settlements with full or partial restriction of sales, there are villages where there have banned the sale of alcohol,” explained Vice-Governor of the measures of fight against alcoholism population. This initiative came from the residents themselves, he said.
Vice-Governor also pointed to the inaccuracy of the methods for determining sobriety of the citizens. “Part of the problem why we leave in the first place, it is hidden in the methods,” he said. It is noted that retail alcohol sold is prohibited from 20 to 12 hours the next day. Also there is a ban on the sale of alcohol in the days of certain holidays.
On 25 November, was published “the rating of the sobriety” of the Russian regions, compiled by experts of the project “Sober Russia”. According to him, the most problematic regions were Chukotka, Magadan, Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Komi Republic and Sakhalin, and the sober Caucasian republics: Chechnya, Ingushetia, Dagestan, Karachay-Cherkessia and Kabardino-Balkaria.
In October, the Agency Zoom Market has made its own ranking of sobriety regions of Russia. According to them, the drinking city is Saratov. In second place — Khanty-Mansiysk, rounded out the top three Perm. Two days later, the Ministry of health refuted the results of the study and encouraged to focus on the study of the “Sober Russia”.
