Kilometer taxi ride in average 2.6 times safer than travel by private vehicles, and the risk of being in fatal accident is below 4.7 times. This became known from the study of the Analytical center under the government of Russia, whose results are reviewed by RBC.
According to the study, the average annual growth rate of accidents involving taxis accounted for 16.3 percent (from 2.14 thousands of accidents in 2015 to 2.91 accidents in 2017). At the same time, the increase in the number of issued work permits in the cab of 17.5 percent. The experts concluded that the trend associated with market expansion services.
It is noted that the safety of travel by taxi is also growing: the share of road traffic fatalities to passengers dropped from 8.8 percent in 2015 to 5.7 percent for 9 months of 2018. For the previous year in a taxi killed 181 people, accounting for four percent of the total number of people killed in accidents with cars.
In mid-November, 47 percent of Russians called the bus the most dangerous form of transport. When traveling on the bus concern of the accident the at-fault driver is 31 percent.
In October leading players in the taxi market in the Moscow region said that the ban on taxi aggregators to establish the price of travel can lead to negative consequences.
