In St. Petersburg caught fire icebreaker “Viktor Chernomyrdin”

As a result of fire under construction at the Admiralty shipyards in St. Petersburg icebreaker “Viktor Chernomyrdin” injured two people. They went to the emergency room with blast injuries of the hands, reports “the Fifth channel”.

According to TASS, the fire occurs on two of the five decks on the area of 300 square meters.

According to preliminary data, the cause of the smoke on a diesel-electric icebreaker was a short circuit or violation of the technological process, reports “Interfax” citing a source in the services of technical supervision.

To extinguish the fire brought nine pieces of equipment and 75 lifeguards.

According to “Interfax”, the construction of the vessel began in 2012. At the end of 2016, the icebreaker was launched. It was assumed that he would be sent to ice trials next spring.
