The Kremlin responded to unsuccessful attempts to Poroshenko’s call to Putin

Press Secretary of the President of Russia Dmitry Peskov responded to the words of the Ukrainian leader Petro Poroshenko about the request for a conversation with Vladimir Putin. According to him, no phone contacts, no presidents, RIA Novosti reported.

Earlier, as reported “Interfax”, the Ukrainian leader said that after the detention of ships of naval forces of Ukraine in Kerch Strait they tried to hold a telephone conversation with Vladimir Putin. However, according to Poroshenko, Kiev has not received a response from Moscow on the request.

He also said that he had to turn to the Chancellor of Germany, Angela Merkel, to talk to Putin.

As previously reported, on 27 November, the Kyiv district court of Simferopol sanctioned the arrest until January 25, 2019 twelve sailors of naval forces of Ukraine detained the day before in the Kerch Strait.

A criminal case was opened under part 3 article 322 of the criminal code — “Illegal border crossing committed by a group of persons upon a preliminary collusion or by an organized group or with application of violence or with threat of its application”. The investigation was conducted by the territorial Directorate of the FSB.

Three ships of the Ukrainian Navy, was detained on November 25. Ukrainian soldiers crossed the Russian border, did not respond to requests to stop and began a dangerous maneuver. In Russia considered the incident a provocation.
