The state border service of Ukraine (SBGS) has decided to close the entrance to the Crimea for all foreign nationals. About it the representative of the Ministry said “bi-Bi-si”.
Restrictions are imposed from November 29. Now the border of Ukraine with the Crimea can only be crossed Ukrainian citizens, said the gpsu.
The pass is linked to the introduction in some regions of the country under martial law. The border guards indicated that the restrictions will be in force for the duration of martial law.
“Special attention during the control will be given to the risk group”, — reported in the gpsu, noting that, first and foremost, we are talking about citizens of Russia.
Signed by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko says that the military situation in some regions of Ukraine bordering with Russia and Transnistria (Vinnytsia, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Kherson, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhya regions and inland waters of the Azov-Kerch water area) will be valid for 30 days from 26 November to 26 December.
The reason for martial law was the incident of November 25 incident in the Kerch Strait. Border Department of the FSB of Russia detained three ships of naval forces of Ukraine — boats “Berdyansk” and “Nikopol” and the tug “Yana Kapu”, which crossed the Russian border, did not respond to requests to stop and began a dangerous maneuver.
Crimea became part of Russia following a referendum in March 2014. The Ukrainian government and most of the world did not recognize the results of the vote, Moscow stressed that the plebiscite was held with observance of all international norms.
