About five million Russians took part in the last voting stage of the contest “Great names of Russia”. This was reported on the official website of the project valkiainen.of the Russian Federation.
Only in the final stage of the contest attracted 4 828 436 people. For the last day of the contest organizers recorded more than a million votes, among which about 300 thousand were carried out through “Vkontakte”. It is noted that before the end of voting hours, as November 30 is the last day of the contest.
In several cities there was a change of the leading names for airports. For example, in Novy Urengoy the name of Ivan Gubkin walked Sabit Orujov. In Yekaterinburg, the writer Pavel Bazhov ahead of the industrialist akinfiy Demidov. In Krasnoyarsk the singer Dmitri Hvorostovsky ahead of the artist Vasily Surikov.
According to the total number of votes of the absolute champion was the city of Penza (293,8 thousand votes), followed by the city of Mineralnye Vody (290,6 thousand votes) and Simferopol (255,3 thousand votes). Moscow Domodedovo airport was in seventh place by the number of voters (of 155.6 thousand people).
October 11, the Public chamber of Russia launched the nationwide competition “Great names of Russia”. According to its concept, the names of major Russian airports will complement the names of prominent compatriots.
The vote, following which each of the 47 airports of the parties will assign the name of the outstanding compatriot, held from 12 to 30 November. Anyone can vote for any name from the list on the website, social networks, and also by phone of the hot line.
