Foreign warships from next year, will be able to walk along the Northern sea route only after notifying the Russian authorities. This was stated by the head of the National control center of defense of Russia Mikhail Mezentsev at the conference on interagency cooperation, reports “Interfax”.
“Eliminate the legal vacuum in the use of the Northern sea route, an interdepartmental work on improving Russian legislation, which will result in notification of navigation of foreign warships,” — said the little fingers.
According to him, during the year the number of international treaties on the activities of the naval fleet has grown more than three times.
He also called a landmark collaboration with the foreign Ministry, the FSB and other Federal agencies at the conclusion of the five-sided agreement on prevention of incidents in the Caspian sea.
Northern sea route — the Arctic’s main shipping artery of Russia, connecting the ports of the Arctic and major rivers of the Northern region, the shortest water route between the Far East and the European part of the country.
