Russian hackers blamed in attack on German government

Russian hackers suspected in cyber attack on emails of the deputies, the military and the embassies of Germany. On it informs magazine Spiegel.

The Federal office for protection of Constitution and fighting terrorism (BVT) reported that the attack occurred on 14 November. It is unknown what data and to what level managed to steal the hackers. “From the attack mainly affected the public and political sector of the country”, — said representatives of BVT. According to the Department, this involved the group “Snake”, also known as “Turla” and allegedly connected with the Russian special services.

According to Spiegel, the previous attack was organized by this group in March 2018. Then the victims of hackers were employees of the German Ministry of foreign Affairs.

In 2017, the head of the BVT Hans-Georg Oil said that Russia can influence the situation in the country through cyber attacks, and to prove her guilt as it would be almost impossible.
