In connection with the introduction in some regions of Ukraine the regime of martial law Kiev has restricted the entry of foreigners and stateless persons to the temporarily occupied territory (as in Kiev called self-proclaimed Donetsk (DPR) and Luhansk (LPR) people’s Republic). The message on it appeared on the Operations page of the United forces (OOS — replaced the anti-terrorist operation in the Donbass) in Facebook.
By decision of the commander of OOS Sergei Naava at the checkpoints of entry and exit admission of foreigners and persons without citizenship on the territory, which Kiev calls occupied, limited. Crossing the demarcation line will be only representatives of the official Supervisory missions of the United Nations, the Organization for security and cooperation in Europe and the mission of the red cross.
The decision on the entry in the DNI and LC of the other foreign citizens will be taken when the relevant documents on the permanent residence on the territory or the requirements of crossing the demarcation line with the humanitarian purpose (funeral, severe illness of close relatives, and so on).
November 29 the decision to close the entrance to the Crimea for all foreign citizens adopted the State border service of Ukraine. The pass is linked to the introduction in some regions of the country under martial law. The border guards indicated that the restrictions will be in force for the duration of martial law.
Signed by the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko says that the military situation in several regions bordering Russia and Transnistria (Vinnytsia, Luhansk, Mykolaiv, Odesa, Sumy, Kharkiv, Chernihiv, Kherson, Donetsk and Zaporizhzhya regions and inland waters of the Azov-Kerch water area) will be valid for 30 days from 26 November to 26 December.
The reason for martial law was the incident of November 25 incident in the Kerch Strait. Border Department of the FSB of Russia detained three ships of naval forces of Ukraine — boats “Berdyansk” and “Nikopol” and the tug “Yana Kapu”, which crossed the Russian border, did not respond to requests to stop and began a dangerous maneuver.
