Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu expressed condolences on the passing of former U.S. President George H. W. Bush. The policy statement published in his Twitter.
“The people of Israel will always remember his commitment to Israel’s security, its important contribution to the liberation of Soviet Jews and his efforts to promote peace in the middle East,” wrote Netanyahu.
Earlier it was revealed that the last words of the dying Bush was his recognition of the son in love.
George Bush senior was the President of the United States from 1989 to 1993. International policies pursued by the Bush, marked by military operations conducted in Panama, the Philippines and the Persian Gulf, the fall of the Berlin wall in 1989 and the collapse of the Soviet Union two years later. In the first year of Bush’s presidency from the Soviet Union began a massive repatriation of Jews to Israel. Over the next two years more than 300 thousand people have received Israeli citizenship.
Bush Sr. died November 30 at the age of 94. His health deteriorated after the death of his wife Barbara Bush, who died April 18 at age 92.
