The United States announced new sanctions against Russia on the “case Skrypalia”

Washington plans to introduce the second part of anti-Russian sanctions “case Skrypalia”. On Sunday, December 2, TASS was told at the state Department.

According to the interlocutor of the Agency, to impose sanctions against Russia according to the law on the control of chemical and biological weapons and prohibiting its military use from 1991. “We do not anticipate decisions on sanctions, but intend to comply with the [U.S.] legislation,” — said the representative of the state Department.

The first part of the sanctions on the “case Skrypalia” the US imposed on 27 August. It was expected that the second part will be imposed if Moscow within 90 days does not fulfill a number of conditions. However, after this period, the American side no action taken.

The second part of the sanctions includes, in particular, the almost complete ban of exports to Russia any American goods, excluding food as well as the import of Russian goods, including oil and oil products. In addition, aircraft of any airline, which is controlled by the government of Russia will not be allowed to land on U.S. soil.

In November it was reported that the United States is likely not to impose new sanctions against Russia until the end of 2018, because Congress will not have time to approve them.
