All-Russia centre of studying of public opinion (VTSIOM) conducted a study and found out how the Russians treat the competition “Great names of Russia”. This was reported on the official website of the project felicienne.of the Russian Federation.
It turned out that more than half (54 percent) of Russians have a positive attitude to this initiative. And for the last month this figure rose to seven percent.
They also found that, in General, about the project “Great names of Russia” got about 75 percent of respondents.
Among the people, positively related to the choice of names for the airport in the region, 54 per cent admitted that they would give preference to fellow countryman, known in the region. Another 38 percent believe that the name of the countryman to assign optional.
Most Russians (30 per cent) asked to name the airports with names of outstanding scientists and 29% of Russians prefer the military. Another 23 percent of respondents gave their vote for the workers of culture and art, and another 15 percent believe that it should be social workers. The remaining eight percent voted for the names of outstanding workers.
“The contest “Great names of Russia” has become widespread, left a positive impression on the Russians. Thereby achieved its main goal — to draw attention to the great scientists, writers, generals, pilots and astronauts of our country, its glorious history, its victories and achievements,” — commented on the results of a survey of the General Director of VTSIOM Valery Fedorov.
October 11, the Public chamber of Russia launched the nationwide competition “Great names of Russia”. According to its concept, the names of major Russian airports will complement the names of prominent compatriots.
The vote, following which each of the 47 airports of the parties will assign the name of the outstanding compatriot, ended November 30. The winners will be announced on 4 December.
