The statement of the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko that Russia plans to capture Mariupol and Berdyansk, to build an overland corridor from Donbass to Crimea is absurd, said the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov. About it reports TASS.
“This is absolutely absurd statement, yet another attempt to somehow provoke tensions. It is clear that, most likely, such attempts, unfortunately, will continue as elections approach in Ukraine”, — said Peskov.
According to Peskov, Russia has never carried out any seizures. “So this is a completely unfounded statement and accusation of Russia”, — concluded the press-Secretary of the Russian leader.
Previously Poroshenko in an interview with German reporters, said that Russia wants to “expand its occupation of Ukraine”, namely to capture the city of Mariupol and Berdyansk, to obtain a “land corridor” from Donbas to Crimea. The proof of such intentions, according to the Ukrainian leader, serves as the incident in the Kerch Strait.
On 25 November, the FSB said that the three warships of Ukraine violated the sea border of Russia and are moving to the Kerch Strait, making dangerous maneuvers and not responding to legitimate demands. The Strait was blocked in the air was raised military aviation. Kiev said that the ships going from Odessa to Mariupol, as it was known in advance. The Russian border guard ship rammed the Ukrainian tow “Yana Kapu”. In the evening the Ukrainian ship was detained, the 24 sailors are accused of violation of the border, they are arrested for two months. Ukraine called the actions of Russia’s military aggression and introduced in some regions of the Republic under martial law.
Kiev does not recognize the affiliation with Russia Crimean Peninsula and the adjacent waters. However the Ukrainian command insists that the ships were in international waters. In Moscow claim that the ship went into the water, which belonged to Russia before the annexation of Crimea.
