The Israeli military announced the launch of the operation to destroy underground tunnels on its border, built by the Lebanese Shiite party Hezbollah. It is reported by Reuters on Tuesday, 4 December.
According to the representative of the army of Jonathan Conicus managed to find the tunnels that cross the border in the North. He noted that the operation will affect only the buildings that are located in Israel, and a military border crossing will not.

According to Reuters, the last time hostilities between Israel and Lebanon was in 2006. In recent months, the tension in relations between countries is growing. In September, Netanyahu, in a speech to the UN, spoke about three areas in Lebanon, where, in his words, Hizbollah is engaged in the conversion of conventional projectiles in precision missiles. Then he warned that the Jewish state never afford that on purpose.
On 20 September the leader of the Shiite party, Hassan Nasrallah, said that Israel could not deprive Hezbollah of weapons that will be used for its destruction. According to him, the Lebanese and Israeli balance of power has changed.
