Russian writer Zakhar Prilepin will no longer fight in the Donbass. He said this in an interview to Slovenian television RTV 4.
Prilepin said that the territory has become “another region of Russia”, where he began the division of the business, so the war there ceased to inspire him. According to the writer, after the assassination of the head of the self-proclaimed Donetsk national Republic (DND) Alexander Zakharchenko there began a radical change.
The writer added that before the Ukraine was a territory of freedom, where there were “lots of music, lots of poetry, lots of space for gesture.”
“I felt I was there in the spring. There now is not my time. And I ceased to be a soldier, I was a civilian. I said, that’s what happens — I feel for the people of Donbass, I help, I have a humanitarian Foundation, my battalion, I remain his sponsor, but I don’t want to fight for the interests of big business. I don’t want to fight for capitalism,” said Park.
In February 2017, he formed his battalion in the DNI. In July, the writer announced that he was leaving the post of Deputy battalion commander.
The head of DNR Alexander Zakharchenko died 31 August as a result of the explosion in Donetsk cafe “Separable.”
