The head of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Yevkurov and the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov confirmed the legality and fairness of the decisions rendered by the Russian Constitutional court (CC) on the establishment of boundaries between the republics. On Thursday, December 6, reports TASS.
“I’m glad I appealed to the constitutional court of the Russian Federation and the decision was made. It puts an end to the issue. We will develop the area, possible joint projects on the border,” — said Yevkurov.
Kadyrov thanked the judges made a fair decision, and also advised all “provocateurs”, who opposed the agreement on the border, to calm down. “I wish the Chechen people, and the Ingush people, to live in brotherhood as our ancestors, so we did not share the territory of the Ingush and Chechen”, — he stressed.
On 6 December, the constitutional court acknowledged that the agreement about establishment of borders between Ingushetia and Chechnya is not contrary to the fundamental law of the country.
In September between Chechnya and Ingushetia signed an agreement on the border, which sparked protests in Magas: according to activists, took place on unequal exchange of non-residential areas. At the same time, residents of settlements on the border said that I see no reason for disputes.
The aggravation of the territorial conflict between the republics, which lasts since the collapse of the Chechen-Ingush ASSR, started in 2012. Then the parties are unable to divide the Sunzha and Malgobek districts. Each Republic created the Commission for the definition of territorial-administrative borders with a neighbor.
