The owner of the group of companies “Renova” Viktor Vekselberg has filed a petition to the US authorities with a request to cancel the imposed sanctions, according to Bloomberg.

The representative of “Renova” Andrey Shtorkh confirmed the information about the filing of the petition “Interfax”. According to him, the document filed with OFAC is a division of the U.S. Treasury that monitors compliance with sanctions.

The publication revealed that Vekselberg several times in recent years, met with U.S. lawyer Michael Cohen, who until 2017 was a lawyer, U.S. President Donald trump. He also as a guest of his cousin, Andrew Intrater attended the inauguration of the trump in January 2017.
