Russian prisoners froze and sewed their mouths

Prisoners in penal colony № 1 of the city of Yakutsk in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) declared a hunger strike in protest against what the administration does not give them warm clothes, despite the forty-degree frosts, announced on Friday, December 7, an informed source “Tape.ru”.

According to him, five of the protesters sewed their mouths.

Regional Public monitoring Commission sent to the Prosecutor’s office and the Federal service of execution of punishments the message about what is happening in the colony, reports “Interfax”.

“Information about the hunger strike entered 6 Dec. The reason is the poor conditions of stay”, — said the Agency head of the Commission, Marina Semenova.

Prisoners also complain of beatings by the members of the colony.

On 30 November it was reported about initiation of criminal case on the fact of tortures of prisoners in prison “Vladimir Tsentral”. About them it became known after the collective hunger strike of prisoners taken in August.
