Users of Google maps beckoned “free prizes”

Users of Google maps complained about the abundance of fake notifications they receive from the service. They force users to share their location unknown. The first issue drew the attention of one of the visitors imageboard Reddit.

According to the user under the nickname invisibowl, a few days ago he received a message about a “free prize from Google”. The user decided that it is a virtual gift.

“As soon as I clicked on it, it turned out that this user named “You got a free prize”, and card asked me to share with them your location,” — said invisibowl.

The user is immediately blocked all notifications from Google maps, not to become a victim of fraud. He told them what had happened on the forum and asked, did this other user.

Some users began to joke that invisibowl missed the opportunity to get rich quickly, but most treated spam submissions seriously. Many have reported that already faced with similar notifications.

According to BleepingComputer, the last time these messages get the Android and iOS. Basically it is a variety of congratulations, promises of payments and gifts. What follows the results of geolocation service is unknown.

Previously, users of Google Maps around the world noticed that the service marks the selected companies with the icon of a swastika. These marks appeared over buildings in several European and American cities.
