Hvorostovsky and Orbelian named on Friday among the nominees for the award “Grammy” in the category “Best recording of the Opera” for the performance of this Opera. “So it turns out that the last entry of Dmitry, his last dream was nominated for the award is quite emotionally,” — said Orbelyan.
He added that after learning about his diagnosis in 2015, Hvorostovsky had planned to do two things — record “Rigoletto” Opera window “to sail Rus”. “His dream came true, we made this album, which was released on the day of his death,” said the conductor.
Dmitri Hvorostovsky died at the age of 55 years in London November 22, 2017. He’s two and a half years of fighting brain cancer. According to the last will of the musician, his ashes divided into two parts — one urn was buried in Moscow on 28 November, the second on the following day was taken to his native Krasnoyarsk.
