Earthlings first heard the noise of the wind on Mars

Automatic station NASA Mars InSight recorded and sent to Earth the noise of the Martian wind. The video with the original sounds posted on the official account of the jet propulsion Laboratory of NASA in YouTube.

Set at a research station seismograph recorded the fluctuations of solar panels, blown by the wind. Initially, the sounds were almost not audible to the human ear, experts for clarity, increased the frequency two octaves.

Also the wind was recorded and written by another tool — sensor the air pressure.

In a short time the seismograph will be installed on the surface of the red planet, and will start the direct duties — to collect information on the contemporary tectonic activity of Mars.

Mission InSight (Interior Exploration using Seismic Investigations, Geodesy and Heat Transport) November 26, made a soft landing on the surface of the Martian plains of Elysium. It is expected that the station will last slightly more than one Martian year, or 728 earth days. The obtained data will allow to answer questions about the formation of terrestrial planets within the Solar system, the Mars, mercury, Venus and Earth, and exoplanets.
